This Week

We’ve had a wonderful week celebrating kindness as part of our anti-bullying strategy. Pupils and staff participated in positive affirmation activities, where everyone wrote supportive labels recognising each other’s strengths. We continued adding kindness drops to our Kindness Bucket display and placed acts of kindness into our Class Kindness Jars.

In assemblies, we discussed this year’s Anti-Bullying Week theme: Respect, exploring ways to build a respectful school environment.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our Children in Need fundraiser this year!  It is  wonderful to see our school community come together for such a worthy cause.

Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) pupils have also been enjoying World Nursery Rhyme Week. Nursery rhymes are essential to early childhood development and education; they’re not only enjoyable but also serve as powerful teaching tools. Nursery rhymes and children’s songs boost vocabulary and language development, support early literacy skills, and provide a playful way to enhance early numeracy. They also promote social, physical, and emotional growth.

The five official nursery rhymes for 2024 are:

– Twinkle Twinkle

– Old MacDonald

– The Big Ship Sails

– Incy Wincy Spider

– Five Currant Buns

We look forward to seeing our EYFS pupils perform these rhymes for parents next week!
