Remote Learning

Remote Learning Statement

Attendance is mandatory for all pupils of compulsory school age. However, what we have learnt from the Covid 19 pandemic is that there may be exceptional circumstances when in-person attendance is either not possible or contrary to government guidance.

This might include:

  • occasions when the Headteacher has to make the decision that it is not possible for school to open safely, or that opening would contradict guidance from local or central government.
  • occasions when individual pupils, for a limited duration, are unable to physically attend school but are able to continue learning, for example pupils with an infectious illness.

In these circumstances we will strive to ensure access to remote education as soon as possible.  A loan device will be offered to those who need one.  Pupils will be able to access  a range of learning resources for example:

  • Google Classroom activities
  • Recorded lessons
  • ICT programmes e.g. Maths Shed, Literacy Shed, Stick and Split
  • Reading materials e.g. Bug Club
