Nationwide Changes in Attendance Policy
10 Sessions (5 days) of unauthorised absence within a 10-week rolling period may now lead to a fine.
10 consecutive sessions (5 days) of absence may lead to a fine.
Fines are increasing to £160 per parent, per child if paid within 28 days (80 if paid within 21 days).
Nationally, fines will be issued for 2 years of occurrence.
On the third subsequent offence, prosecutions and other legal interventions will be used by the local authority.
