VE Day 2025 for Web

VE Day 80th Anniversary Celebrations

On Thursday, we had a truly special day as we marked the 80th anniversary of VE Day with our whole-school celebration.

We had a moving remembrance service,  led by the children, honouring those who served and sacrificed during World War II. It was a proud moment to see our children showing such respect and understanding of this important part of our history.

Following the service, the entire school came together for a traditional outdoor picnic. The celebrations continued with singing and dancing on the playground.

Our Wall of Remembrance was a real focal point of the week. In class, pupils explored the history of World War II, with a particular focus on how the war affected St Helens.

It has been a wonderful few days of learning, reflection, and celebration — one that reminded us all of the importance of remembering the past while looking to the future with hope.
