Diversity Week

What a brilliant week we have had celebrating Diversity Week at Thatto Heath! This special week is all about helping our children  understand and appreciate what makes us all unique and why it is important to respect and celebrate our differences. From culture and language to talents, interests and personal qualities. Diversity is what makes our school and wider world such an exciting and welcoming place.

Express Yourself Day rounded off the week in style! The children looked amazing in outfits that reflected their personalities and interests. They took part in a variety of activities designed to help them think about what makes them special and they shared their ideas with pride. Our Year 6 pupils also spent time learning about inspirational LGBT+ figures, exploring their achievements and the importance of inclusion and representation in society.

On Tuesday our Year 3 pupils had a brilliant trip to Knowsley Safari Park. They represented the school beautifully, showing excellent behaviour throughout the day. The children thoroughly enjoyed seeing the animals up close and learning more about the natural world.

Wednesday brought a real treat for our youngest children, as Little Barn Farm came to visit! EYFS pupils had an unforgettable experience meeting and learning about the animals. There were lots of smiles and excitement as the children enjoyed hands-on learning.

To top it all off, our Year 6 Careers Fair was a great success. A huge thank you to all the visitors who gave up their time to talk to pupils about their jobs. From healthcare to engineering and the arts to public services, our guests inspired and informed our pupils and maybe even sparked some future ambitions!
