This Week

We have had a great second week back in school and it has been lovely to see the children settled, happy and working hard in their classes.

This week, we were delighted to host two important visits to school. We welcomed a group of St Helens councillors and local authority officers, as well as a Voice 21 consultant. Both visits went extremely well and visitors were full of praise for our children, commenting on how respectful, articulate and confident they were, as well as the strong ethos and welcoming environment across the school. We are proud to share that, following these visits, we have now been asked to host visitors from other local schools in March and to present our work at a national level.

As we continue through the term, we would like to remind parents that if your child is absent from school, you must telephone the school before the start of the school day, ideally before 8:30am. Parents must also contact school every day during their child’s absence.

Attendance remains a key focus for us. The Department for Education has asked us to join their Attendance Hub to help support our drive to reach national levels of attendance. As part of this work, home visits will once again be an important part of our support and challenge this term. These visits help us to work closely with families and ensure that children are safe, supported and able to attend school regularly.
